In addition, please note that all the main components of the watch – the movement, dial and hands – are original and come from an authentic IWC Schaffhausen pocket watch. Due to the conversion so that the watch can be worn on the wrist, only the case elements are new, carefully made and fitted to match the original pocket watch parts.

The result is a beautiful wristwatch with an antique IWC movement, which makes it a very special piece – all the more so because you can admire the work of the movement through the transparent display back.

Collector Notes & Dating

A large-format wristwatch built around a 1907 International Watch Co. (IWC) pocket-watch movement, freshly serviced on 03-11-2025. The original antique porcelain (enamel) dial with Arabic numerals and sunk seconds is paired with period-correct Louis XVI gilt hands for a textbook early-20th-century look. Housed in a polished steel wrist case with exhibition back and mineral glass, the watch wears with commanding presence at 48 mm and accepts 22 mm straps.

Inside beats IWC’s Cal. 53 (savonnette layout) — a robust, hand-wound pocket-watch caliber running at ~18,000 A/h with swan-neck fine regulator and bimetallic balance. On the barrel bridge you’ll find IWC’s round “PROBUS SCAFUSIA” quality seal, Latin for “Good, solid craftsmanship from Schaffhausen,” a hallmark the brand used to certify in-house quality. The stamp on this example is crisp and period-correct.
